This lower level finish was designed for a growing family in Ballwin, MO. The family of 5 (soon to be 6) was looking for a roomy place for both children and adults to play. The basement has a theater room, play room, bar area, bathroom, exercise room/ extra bedroom, storage area, and a wine room. The theater room was designed for the family to be able to sit together and watch movies. The play room needed to be large enough to fit the kids toys and be able to blow up the bounce house. The bar area was designed for the parents to be able to enjoy frosty beverages poured from the built in kegerator but also keep an eye on the kids while they are in the play room. The exercise room was designed to fit the treadmill and other exercise equipment but also to convert into a bedroom when anyone needed to stay over. The wine cellar was designed to be its own conditioned space to keep over 1000 bottles of wine at an optimal 57 degrees. This was achieved by insulating the walls and ceiling with closed cell foam insulation. Also, a ducted wine cellar cooling system was installed to maintain the perfect conditions in the room. Finally, an exterior door, with a keypad door lock, was installed entering the wine cellar to close off the room into its own conditioned space. This family is excited to use their extra space!
